How to activate a promo code

A promo code is activated in the chat with the @obfsnbot bot: send the code as an ordinary message. There is no separate promo-code field in your account; activation always goes through the bot. A promo code adds subscription days rather than a discount on payment.

How to activate one

1. Open a private chat with the @obfsnbot bot.
2. Send the code as one message, in full and with no spaces. Codes start with "&" and look roughly like &XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
3. The bot replies with how long access was extended for and the new end date.

If someone sent you a link to the bot with a promo code rather than the code itself, just open it: the bot picks the code up and activates it.

How many days a code gives

The term is baked into the particular code, from one day to a year. On activation:

• with no active subscription, the days start counting from the moment of activation;
• with an active subscription, the days are added to the current end date;
• during a trial, it turns into a paid subscription and the unused trial days are kept and added to the promo code's term.

The subscription link does not change, so there is nothing to import into the app again. If the app has already stopped connecting, refresh the profile in it after activation.

The code will not work

Every promo code is good for one activation: once it has been used it stops working, including when someone else got to it before you.

Worth checking when the bot says the code is not found or already used:

• the code was copied in full, with the "&" and every hyphen;
• the message has no extra spaces, line breaks or notes;
• the code went to the private chat with the bot rather than to a group;
• no characters were lost while copying from a messenger; a long press is safer than selecting letter by letter.

Where promo codes come from

We publish them ourselves: in the @obfsn channel and in messages from the bot. Codes from other sources may already be spent.
