ChatGPT does not work

In most cases one thing helps: pick a location, leave it alone, and sign in again with cleared cookies. The service ties the session to an address, so every server change can drop the sign-in or run into an error.

What to do

  1. Connect to any working location and do not switch it while you are using the service.
  2. Clear cookies for the site or open it in a private window and sign in again.
  3. If the error persists, change location, open a private window again and repeat the sign-in.
  4. Refresh the subscription in the app: you may be connecting to an old node that is no longer in the current list.

In the mobile app

Close the app completely, turn the VPN on, then open the app again. The order matters: many apps check the network only at launch. On Android, also clear the app's cache if it keeps showing a connection error.

Make sure a system VPN profile is up on the phone rather than just the client being open: the status bar should show the active-connection icon.

If you use the extension

The browser extension covers browser tabs only. The desktop and mobile versions of the app will not go through it; they need an ordinary VPN client, with guides on the setup page.

What else to check

  • Whether two VPNs or a "smart DNS" are running at once: mismatched addresses often produce sign-in errors.
  • Whether the subscription is active, which the payment page shows.
  • Whether the subscription link's device limit is used up; the list is in the Devices section.
  • If the error only shows in one browser, check blocker extensions: turn them off for a moment and reload the page.

Worth remembering

We do not guarantee that any particular third-party service works: they decide who to let in and change the rules without warning. The practical advice is simple: stay on one location during a session, and when there is trouble change it together with clearing cookies, since separately these steps help far less often.
