The subscription will not import into the app

Most often the link was copied incompletely or opened in a browser instead of the app. The subscription link looks like https://subscription.obfsn.com/c/<token> and belongs inside a VPN client, not in a browser's address bar.

The right order

  1. Copy the link with the copy button in your account, not by selecting it with a mouse or finger.
  2. In HAPP the import is one tap from the button in your account: the app opens by itself and offers to add the subscription.
  3. In other clients, choose to add a subscription or profile by link or from the clipboard. In Karing that is settings, then adding a configuration by link.
  4. After adding it, refresh the profile inside the app so it pulls the current server list.

Tested apps and detailed steps for each platform are on the setup page.

Common causes

The link opened in a browser

In a browser you see configuration text or a page with the file contents. No harm done: copy the address from the address bar and paste it into the client as a subscription.

The link was cut off when forwarded

Forwarding through messengers and notes puts spaces and line breaks into the address. Send the link to yourself as one message and paste it whole, from https:// to the last character.

The device limit is used up

The subscription link has a device counter. Open the Devices section, look through the list, unlink what you no longer use and import again.

The subscription is inactive

Check the payment page. The 7-day trial is issued once; if the period has ended, the subscription needs extending, otherwise the client gets an empty answer.

On a TV

On Android TV and Apple TV a link cannot be opened in one tap, so the subscription is added through the clipboard: copy the link on a phone or computer, forward it to yourself on the TV and add the profile from the clipboard in the app.

The import went through but the server list is empty

  • Refresh the subscription profile inside the app.
  • Check the date and time on the device: a wrong clock breaks the TLS certificate check, and the subscription download fails with no clear error.
  • Turn off any other VPN that was running during the import.
  • Try importing into another app from the list on the setup page: that shows whether the client or the link is at fault.
